Restorative Dorset is asking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer as Restorative Dorset Facilitators
The Borough of Poole’s Safer Poole Community Safety Team, working with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Dorset are proud to be supporting this new pan-Dorset, victim focused Restorative Justice and Mediation service.
We will train you to work directly with Harmed Persons (Victims) and Wrongdoers (Perpetrators) who have been involved in crime or anti-social behaviour and members of the community involved in ongoing conflict. You will acquire a nationally accredited Restorative Justice qualification; refresher training and ongoing opportunities for continuous development will also be available.
Preparing for and facilitating Restorative Justice meetings (known as conferences), your work will empower and help victims, involve perpetrators making up for some of the harm caused by their behaviour and reduce re-offending.
You will be mediating community civil matters such as those relating to neighbourhood and housing disputes, helping those involved find solutions that will enable them to ‘move on’.
If you are an excellent communicator, victim focused, and believe that you have the ability to be able to objectively guide and support those involved through Restorative Justice and Restorative Mediation processes, please consider using and developing your current skills with us in this rewarding role.
