Are you the type of person who likes a challenging but rewarding job?
We are seeking people with a friendly, understanding and helpful approach to provide care and supervision to clients with special needs whilst they are travelling to and from schools, day centres or respite addresses.
You will need to work in partnership with the driver to ensure the safety of these clients and that they are handed over to a responsible person at the end of the journey.
We currently require people who are able to work on an 'as and when' basis during term time. This is often at short notice to cover absences of our Permanent Passenger Assistants therefore a contact telephone number is essential for this post.
In most cases, if living in Poole, you will not require your own transport as you will be collected from and returned to your home address. If you live outside Poole a pick up point in the Borough can be agreed.
Payment will be monthly in arrears, and you will be paid for the time actually spent on the vehicle.
Although we cannot offer permanent positions at this time, this is an ideal opportunity to learn the role and you will be ideally placed for any regular work which becomes available.
For more details about the post please contact Linda Gibbs on 01202 261939.
This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the community and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. Please refer to the Person Specification for more details.
