ICT & Customer Support require a Desktop Support Technician to join a busy and dynamic team.
The role will offer you a wide variety of responsibilities: You will provide telephone, remote and on site second line support to over 4000 desktop users across the Borough of Poole and Bournemouth Borough Council. You will investigate customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. You will install and update hardware and software across the ICT estate. You will have the opportunity to provide ICT support to major projects and change activities which affect the organisation as a whole.
The successful candidate will have experience of providing 1st or 2nd line ICT support in a business environment. They will have a good understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office. Knowledge of networking, Active Directory administration, mobile device management and Microsoft SCCM would be an advantage.
A key part of the role involves troubleshooting for our customers, so excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential to maintain high standards of customer service.
The role involves transporting, moving and installing desktop ICT hardware across Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset, so a full manual driving license is essential.

ICT & Customer Support now deliver ICT services for the Borough of Poole and Bournemouth Borough Council. This role will be predominately based in Poole, but may involve working in Bournemouth if required.
The role is being offered at salary grade G only (£23,398 - £25,951), however it is a career grade post and, subject to satisfactory performance, progression to a maximum salary of £32,486 is possible.
