We’re looking for a skilled GIS Mapping expert to join our Digital Data Office as a Digital Data Officer.
You will support and develop our online mapping system paying particular attention to the integrity of data and support the development and maintenance of web content on poole.gov.uk.
You’ll have experience of GIS, with proven ability to generate business intelligence through presentation of corporate spatial data.
You will work closely with GIS users, 3rd party system suppliers and external agencies to manage change and compliance across the GIS.
You will work collaboratively with service owners to understand the outcomes they want to deliver before using your skills and experience to analyse and present data that meets their needs.
You will be able to manage your own workload under pressure and to deadlines, possess problem solving skills and excellent time management.
Ideally, you’ll also have an understanding of local government and the public sector.
About the Digital Data Office
The Digital Data Office works across internal departments, with external agencies and the public, to help people achieve their full potential using online technologies.
We are a small team whose purpose is to maintain the quality and integrity of:
- content on www.poole.gov.uk
- corporate spatial data and GIS applications
- Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG).
In addition we work with colleagues from across the borough with:
- prompt delivery of digital content change
- training in GIS application use
- Production of maps as business intelligence.
Pay and benefits
£20,661 to £29,323 per annum for 37 hours per week. Location based at Civic Centre, Commercial Road, Poole, BH15 2RU.
