We are looking to recruit a social work qualified Team Manager to lead one of two teams in our Families First Service. This provides support and assistance to children and their families who meet our local LSCB Child in Need thresholds. Each team comprises a senior practitioner, 8 qualified social workers and two family support workers. In addition the service benefits from the presence of professionals from a range of partner agencies including CAMHS, Adult Mental Health, Health Visiting, and Adult Substance Misuse.
Caseloads are closely managed to ensure optimal conditions are available for workers to build meaningful relationships with families and to bring improvement through purposeful, evidence based approaches designed to bring improvement in the lives of the children we are involved with.
The work is varied and often unpredictable but we are making a noticeable difference in terms of reducing the numbers of children subject to a protection plan and numbers needing to be looked after so the rewards are tangible!

We maintain case loads at a level where social workers can build relationships with families and engage in meaningful direct work.
We expect you will be an experienced child protection practitioner ready to take your next career move, or a talented Team Manager looking for a new challenge. You will need to have:
- A recognised social work qualification and HCPC registration
- Proven child protection knowledge, judgement and decision making skills
- The tenacity and resilience to work in a high paced environment
- The ability to work in partnership to shape and lead a developing service.
